I Contain My Universe

By Peter Halstead

I look beyond my idle wrists,
Then I repeat my view,
And double up my fists,
And am nothing less than Dolby True.
And yet what am I compared to any
        3D UBKM9 TV.
        Machines without restriction,
        Constructions bar none,
But what do I finally have to say
To the 4K Dolby Ultra Vision Blu-ray,
A sleek and fit cable-bundled model
Compared to my HMV London Records waddle?
I used to be a hit machine,
        Of the RCA single-spindle type,
But even then I lacked the screen,
        HDMI, the High Definition hype—
Their regions free, their WiFi Smart,
Their Dynastar still lacks a heart,
An inner code and dual-band gal
That a TV set can watch in PAL,
       A compatible with SECAM Blu-ray
That Regions 1 through 10 all deem 4K,
       While I, a muddy-mettled record player
Have come to nothing with just one layer:
Vinyl-lacquered, I lack the grooves
To play the games True Vision proves,
And if I can’t encompass legions,
I can stream at least in Multi Regions.
