Christopher Malec

Christopher Malec was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. He is a former Luis Angel Hernandez Florida Prison Poet Laureate, named by Exchange for Change in collaboration with O, Miami Poetry Festival.
As a writer of poetry and law, Malec blends these two worlds together to paint a clearer picture of what social justice needs in America. His work has been featured in Poetry, NPR, and elsewhere, and has been commissioned by the University of Arizona’s Art for Justice project.
Incarcerated since the age of nineteen, Malec is currently serving life without parole.
