Four films and a Poet-in-Residence at Belfast Book Festival
We're thrilled to be a part of the 14th annual Belfast Book Festival! For the festival's run from June 6 to June 13, 2024, four of our films will be on view—and we're also sponsoring the festival's first-ever Poet-in-Residence, Zara Meadows.
A brand-new film featuring poet Bebe Ashley will debut at the festival. Plus, three films created with Belfast Book Festival in 2023 will also be continually on view onsite, all directed by Matthew Thompson. Here's the full film program:
- Bebe Ashley performs "Writing Audio Description at the Ulster Museum"
- Leontia Flynn performs "On Platforms and in Plate-Glass Waiting Rooms"
- Emma Must performs "Belfast Pastoral"
- Abby Oliveira performs "River Stars from a Grotto"
Plus, we're proud to be supporting the festival's new Poet-in-Residence role, held by emerging poet Zara Meadows. Meadows, a Foyle Young Poet and undergraduate at Queen’s University, Belfast, will host a reading during the festival and enjoy one-on-one mentorship with visiting poet Marie Howe and poet and festival associate Mícheál McCann.
