Like a Hammer: Film Screening and Poetry Reading

Join us at Haymarket House on Friday, March 7th at 2 pm for an afternoon of poetry and film in honor of the launch of Like a Hammer: Poets on Mass Incarceration, in partnership with Haymarket Books.
Diana Marie Delgado, John Murillo, Nicole Sealey, Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, and Candace Williams will speak and read at the event in celebration of this anthology of poems of witness. Eight films directed by Jean Coleman featuring contributors from Like a Hammer will also be screened, with performances by John Murillo, Nicole Sealey, Evie Shockley, Vanessa Angélica Villareal, Marcelo Hernandez Castillo, Randall Horton, and Sin à Tes Souhaits.
We will be releasing six of these films over the next six weeks, beginning Tuesday, March 4th, with Sin à Tes Souhaits' performance of incarcerated poet Christopher Malec's poem "Which Is It?"
