Screen/Print: Screening and Discussion at Poets House

Find out what happens behind the scenes when poetry and film meet!

Join us at Poets House on Saturday, November 2nd, at 2 pm for a free screening of award-winning short poem films and a discussion featuring poets Moncho Ollin Alvarado, Sarah Sala, and Adeeba Shahid Talukder and directors Eric Felipe-Barkin and Matthew Thompson. These filmmakers and poets, all of whom have collaborated on the Adrian Brinkerhoff Poetry Foundation’s ongoing Read By poem film series, will share their experiences in bringing poetry to the screen.

Screenings and conversation: 2–3pm, Kray Hall

Refreshments: 3–4pm, Viscusi Reading Room

Film screenings will include performances by all of the poets present, as well as performances by actor Elizabeth Marvel and poet Legna Rodríguez Iglesias, plus poems by Óscar Cruz, Jack Gilbert, Aracelis Girmay, William Johnson, and Faisal Mohyuddin.
